Mill Supply carries 3 styles of back-up alarms that are ideal for a wide variety of commercial vehicle applications. Often times when in a commercial vehicle you cannot see directly behind it do to obstructions in or on the bed of the truck. This is especially true when using large salt or sand spreaders on plow trucks. Plowers are constantly changing between drive and reverse, with obstructions in the bed of the truck and bad weather conditions a back alarm only adds safety while you are doing your job. Set it up and leave it so it automatically turns on when your vehicle is shifted to reverse. Choose from compact to our full size models with self adjusting volume to units that fit into your existing lamp hole.
Our most popular model, BA230 Series alarm have the highest demand of any low sound level alarm on the market. Used by major OEMs. These alarms have #8-32 UNC terminal studs. Weight: 10 oz. (284 g), 4"wide x 2-1/2"high x 1-5/8" deep, mount to any flat surface and has a decibel rating of 87.
The next size up is a self adjusting model, BA-1040. This back alarm is a little larger measuring 5" wide x 2-7/8" tall and 3-3/4"deep. The self adjusting feature automatically raises the alarm sound from 87-112 depending on the noise level outside the vehicle. Weighs only 1.64 lbs. Just like the BA-230 this alarm also mounts to any flat surface but is a little larger in size and needs more room to mount.
If you have 4" tail and back up lamps built into the body of your truck or bumper you can install our 4" round model. This model number 87-026 fits right into the existing 4" back up lamp grommet and replaces the lamp with an alarm. Purchase grommet separately. If you decide you want both your back-up lamps, Mill Supply has the grommets available so you can drill your own hole and install the back alarm recessed into the body or bumper of the truck. Rated at 97 decibels.
